Comprehensive CUET Syllabus 2025: Key Topics and Exam Structure

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a highly competitive examination for undergraduate admissions across more than 250 universities in India. In  2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the CUET exam online in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Punjabi. The CUET examination includes both UG and PG categories, with different syllabi for each​ ​.

Exam Structure 2025

CUET UG:

  • Exam Pattern: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Number of Sections: 4
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for correct answers
  • Negative Marking: None

CUET PG:

  • Conducting Body: National Testing Agency (NTA)
  • Exam Name: CUET PG  2025
  • Medium: English and Hindi
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark for incorrect answers​ ​.

CUET Exam Pattern

CUET  2025 has four sections, which are:

  1. Section IA – 13 Languages
  2. Section IB – 19 Languages
  3. Section II – 27 Domain-specific Subjects
  4. Section III – General Test​)​.

UG Exam Pattern:

  • Section IA: 13 Languages (50 questions, 40 to be attempted, 45 minutes each)
  • Section IB: 19 Languages
  • Section II: 27 Domain-specific Subjects (45/50 questions, 35/40 to be attempted, 45 minutes each)
  • Section III: General Test (60 questions, 50 to be attempted, 60 minutes)​.
